Tuesday, August 318:30-9:30am Diverging Diamond InterchangePresenter: Lorenzo Rotoli, P.E., PTOE, Traffic Manager Fisher Associates, P.E., L.S., P.C.Planners and Engineers are facing the challenge of finding new ways to mitigate traffic congestion. The Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) is a unique concept that requires traffic on the non-freeway road to briefly drive on the opposite side of the road between the diamond ramp intersections. Once on the left side of the arterial roadway, vehicles can turn left onto limited access ramps without stopping and without conflict with opposing through traffic. The DDI is a creative and innovative solution that increases safety, decreases congestion, and minimizes the cost of new infrastructure by reducing the footprint. As an added benefit of membership in the Association Professional Development Hour (PDH) credits offered through the Continuing Education Consortium will be provided complimentary to all members (both Regular and Affiliate) in good standing that have registered for the full conference.
